Don’t Use Shopify or You Will Ruin
Don’t use Shopify or you’ll waste all your hard work. After paying for them and getting my site ready they just shut down my site. This was the worst customer service experience ever, even after receiving a message from Raul from the Trust and Security team. The person doesn’t even give a proper reason why it happened and doesn’t react back. All they want is your money. You take your full time to work hard on the site and pay them monthly for no reason. Don’t use them.
Shopify Shut Down our Payment System Without Trying to Resolve the Issue with Us First: Shopify.com
We’ve had Shopify as a platform for about three years. Mostly it has worked fine, even though their support and especially how to reach it, is terrible. Then for some reason, they thought that we don’t have the right to sell some of our products, about five out of a total of 500 products. Without giving notice and giving us a chance to respond, they shut down the payment system in our shop, making it impossible for our customers to place orders. For almost a week our shop was unable to process orders. An incredible way to deal with your customer.
They Don’t Care About the Customer and Make Cavalier Change
We’ve been at Shopify for several years using third-party plug-ins to help with wholesale pricing. Unfortunately, Shopify made changes that broke the way our checkout process used to work and they are no longer interested in fixing the issue which is now over 7 weeks old. He says that the plug-in needs to change its code to work with the changes Shopify has made. There is no backward compatibility of the changes. A big mistake in using this platform is when they can make changes that affect your website and then leave you to deal with the consequences. Will never use them again.

Great off-the-Shelf Platform
A great off-the-shelf platform where everything works as expected. The checkout flow is perfect for the end user. Had some issues with plugins but support is working on it for us now. Several other sites are planning to move in the coming months.
Scam: Shopify.com
Shopify is holding my money for a month without any reason and without telling me when they will release the money over $6000. They don’t answer emails and just tell you that some black ops team is working on it and they are very busy due to an increased workload due to the virus.
Terrible Service from Start to Finish
Terrible service from start to finish. So, Cannot recommend this company and sincerely hope that potential customers read these reviews before signing up.
I am Very Happy Overall
I am very happy with the experience of hosting the Shopify store. Base rates are low, and there is a high level of functionality. One thing I would say is they need to improve credit card processing rates for international payments. Canadian-owned stores w US base currency are required to pay approximately .7% of total revenue for selling to US customers, a processing fee not applicable to other US-owned stores. Yes, it’s tiny, but e-commerce margins are slim and I’d prefer to put that unnecessary 1% out of the expense column and into the profit column.

Withholding our Sales Payments is Very Dodgy
We are a well-established highly rated shop in Cornwall, that uses Shopify for our website. Over the past few months, Shopify has withheld our sales revenue multiple times for increasingly dodgy reasons. They have also introduced large price/transaction cost increases and grabbing money from our own bank account. We cannot trust them with our business and our money any longer and we will be getting off this platform immediately.
Shopify is a Big SCAM
Firstly they put a hold on your money once you start getting a good number of orders by saying that it is a regular check and you will receive your funds soon and later they close your shop without notifying you. All your orders, customer data, and tracking details get lost and you have nothing to verify what happened. They keep that money for 120 days and after that, if you are lucky you might get SOME funds out of it that too after sending them 100s of emails, and calls. You will never receive full funds. If you ask them I want to know why I didn’t get my full fund they will say bcz of chargebacks and they decline to provide any other info. So stay away from scammers SHOPIFY.
A Compromised Shopify Server Leaked my full Credit Card Number to Thieves: Shopify.com
Got a text from my bank about a fraudulent transaction 2 nights ago. They were valid attempts at fraud–not false alarms. What apparently happened was a small business online used compromised Shopify servers, as I spoke with the owner to let them know their system was likely compromised. The entire credit card number had been stolen, & I won’t be ordering through them online anymore–but can buy direct thankfully avoiding a compromised server.

Horrible Customer Service
Literally one of the worst customer services so far I have experienced for a seller/business owner. Shopify.com they have no management that can at least step in when their so-called “experts” can’t do anything basically and just keep telling you BS until you go away. very disappointing for such a large company.
Shopify is About to Make me Loose
Shopify is about to make me lose my business. I have not been able to enter my account since my investor arrived, I have chatted with them for two days now and they can’t seem to send me a code to enter my account. After escalating to the highest level I was told to wait and I have been waiting but nothing is done. I am just tired of typing on the chat every six hours asking for help getting into my store and nothing is been done, I regret trusting them with my business.
Think Carefully Before Working with Shopify: Shopify.com
I represent a small website development company. The client ordered a site on the Shopify platform and the site was created, but it was time to transfer the account to the client so that he could continue to deal with it. This is where the problems I didn’t understand began. I needed to disconnect the company’s credit card from my account and I wrote about it in support. The answer was simple. They wrote that they sent it for consideration. A week passed, the second week and no one was able to turn off the cards. I asked why it took so long. After all, this is done quickly or explained what the difficulty is, but there was no answer. A month has passed.
Frauds Do Not Trust This Sham of a Company
I contacted Shopify’s billing department and customer support weeks before renewal and requested that all billing be stopped. I was unable to log in, but they assured me and confirmed that all my payment methods were removed from my account. Three weeks later, they charge me triple what my renewal was supposed to be even after they confirmed that the renewal was cancelled.
They refuse to even acknowledge the mistake and they continue to ignore my emails. And their support team is beyond useless. After reading more reviews, it’s clear that this was deliberate and that they regularly steal from their customers and screw them over.
